Using Replace and Learn in Medow Health

Overview

The Replace & Learn feature in Medow Health allows you to customise the AI's language to match your preferred medical terminology and phrasing. While powerful, this tool requires careful implementation to maintain clarity and accuracy in medical documentation.

The features allows you to select a word or phrase and replace it in either:

• one specific consult, or
• for every consult moving forward

Best use cases

✔️ Standard medical terminology preferences - e.g., “hypertension” ➡️ “high blood pressure”

✔️ Individual phrase preferences – e.g., “presents with” ➡️ “demonstrates”

✔️ Abbreviations – e.g., “red blood cell” ➡️ “RBC”

Watch out

⚠️ Please avoid using Replace and Learn for the following:

• Patient-specific information or details – e.g., “Eliza” to “Elisa”
• Terms that may have multiple meanings in different contexts - e.g., “discharge”

How to use it

1. When reviewing a letter or note, select the word(s) you’d like to change. A “Replace” button will automatically appear.

2. Click ‘Replace’ and type in your preferred word(s).

1. To apply this change:
   1. Tick the checkbox ‘Remember and apply…’ if you wish to have this replacement applied to all future consults. Otherwise, leave it unchecked.
   2. Click ‘Replace all in this Consult’.
